The tiniest sliver of light
Breaks through the dark horizon
That was my mind, asleep in dreams,
Dancing with the moon.
The moon had enough light for me
But the day came anyway,
For it has no thought for my thoughts,
It simply comes and goes,
Like a passing breeze
Unaffected by my complaints
That it has blown my hair into my face.
Yes, the moon had enough light for me,
But still the Sun insisted on rising,
Leaving me falling through fast fading stars
And memories too quickly forgotten
Back down to Earth, to gravity and irony,
To the place where I only wait for the night
So I can dance once again with the moon.
