Wait wait – don’t tell me:
This is the waiting game,
Where day after day,
Everything stays the same,
And all you can do
Is anticipate her moves,
So you linger on the street corner
At the crosswalk and the stop sign
Because if she can’t make up her mind
Who are you to decide?
Should you go or should you wait right here and just bide your time,
Because you know now so much better, now that you are alone,
That you can’t rewind on this video phone,
All you can do is put it on hold,
And wait for the tone,
Leave a message if you please,
She said she wanted space,
But to put your mind at ease,
You need to relieve the pressure in case
The feelings keep building
And you can’t keep on pounding
The walls.
